Counselling Services

People come to counselling usually because they are experiencing distress, suffering, or discomfort and they want to do something to help themselves.

I work with clients experiencing issues including:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Feelings of disconnection

  • Shame

  • Challenges regulating your emotions

  • Depression

  • Trauma

  • Grief

  • Challenges making decisions

  • Self-criticism

  • Relationship issues

  • Workplace issues

  • Overwhelm

  • Guilt

  • Chronic illness and pain

  • Burnout

  • Anger management

  • Unhelpful thinking

  • Loss

  • Life changes

Each person is inherently unique, with their own goals, insights, and hopes for themselves. Our counselling sessions reflect this uniqueness, acknowledging and respecting client autonomy, self-efficacy, and self-determination.

My counselling style is compassion-focused, person-centred, and trauma-informed. While reflective listening underpins all sessions, I use an integrated approach depending on the individual needs of each person.

I have a particular interest in Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and use these as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Socratic questioning, creative therapies, and Motivational Interviewing, depending on each client’s individual goals and needs.

Counselling Session (secure Telehealth)

We currently offer counselling via secure Telehealth (video and telephone). This may be particularly helpful if you have limited time, restricted mobilty, transport issues, or carer responsibilities.

Session duration

Each session is 50 minutes.

Cost

The cost for each session is $100. Please note a Medicare rebate is not available and the cost reflects this. If you are on a government pension or benefit, or are a full-time student, you may be eligible for a reduced rate. Please contact us to discuss.

Client Portal

After your first session, you will have access to the secure client portal through Halaxy, where you can manage your appointments if you choose.
